Otterbox Cases For iPhones

Best iPhone Protection: OtterBox Defender Series

Many people consider Otterbox to be the gold standard when it comes to rugged protection for your iPhone, and the Defender Series Pro is the toughest case it offers. It boasts a layered design with a durable synthetic rubber slipcover surrounded by a polycarbonate shell with clean lines that enhance grip. Older versions of this case featured a built-in screen protector, but the iPhone 11 Pro version is “screenless” though you can combine it with a separate screen protector. You’ll also find covers to keep lint and dirt out of your ports and a holster with a belt clip that can double as a stand. The button covers are well defined and make the buttons easy to press. Otterbox puts these cases through 24 different tests, for a total of 238 hours of testing, so you can be confident about the drop protection. This case also offers OtterArmor Microbial Defense to guard against germs.

Best Folio: OtterBox Strada Series Cases

The OtterBox Strada Series is a folio case that wraps around the screen and gives you total protection across your phone. And it also features some nice looks to back up that functionality.

The Strada comes with a leather finish to add a stylish look to your iPhone X. The leather wraps around the screen to protect your screen and includes protection for all the buttons on the device. Better yet, it comes with a vertical cardholder slot that will allow you to store your credit cards, business cards, and other cards right on the case.

In addition to the screen protection, the Strada comes with a dual-material design that’s designed to protect it from drops, bumps, scratches, and scrapes. And since it’s a one-piece case, it should slip on and off your iPhone without too much trouble.

Best Budget: OtterBox Symmetry Series Case

When your case choice is all about design, simplicity and saving some cash on your next purchase, look no further than the OtterBox Symmetry Series Case.

The case, which is compatible with iPhones, is a thinner option that will easily fit inside your pocket and not take up too much space. It features a dual-material construction that can both absorb shock and keep your smartphone safe when it falls. And since it has raised edges around the screen, if it falls flat, it should keep your display safe.

The OtterBox Symmetry is among the cheapest options of any OtterBox case, but keep in mind that prices will vary depending on the phone you have. And if you want a case that will block the Lightning port to prevent entry of foreign objects, this isn’t the case for you.

Still, it offers an outstanding value and design for the price.

Best Overall: OtterBox Commuter Series

The OtterBox Commuter Series is the workhorse of the OtterBox lineup of cases. It offers a nice balance of protection and good-looks and generally works with a variety of phones. But be aware that it doesn’t come with a screen protector.

OtterBox’s Commuter Series is a two-piece case that includes areas to absorb shock and protect your phone from sharp objects. There are also port covers built into the case, so your iPhone’s Lightning port or your Android device’s USB-C port will remain safe.

That said, OtterBox’s Commuter Series is designed to give you easy access to all the buttons on your phone. And since it has a soft material inside, it won’t scratch your device whenever you insert the phone into the case.

The Commuter Series is a bit bulkier than some other OtterBox cases, but should still easily slip in and out of your pocket.
